2013 Mazzei Fonterutoli Chianti Classico

Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Nosing reveals aromas of dark cherries and subtle dried herbs laced with earthy cedar characters followed by hints of toast and spice. Light to medium weight and quite savoury the palate is leaner and drier than previous vintages possessing flavours of dark cherries and spicy dried herbs with earthy leather and cedar characters also present. Dryish finish with fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of dark cherries, spicy dried herbs, earth and cedar.
Cellar 3-4 years.
