2013 Kilikanoon Killerman's Run Shiraz

The Clare Valley experienced ideal vintage conditions in 2013 for the production of red wines resulting in fruit with full fruit ripeness and flavour development whilst still retaining tremendous poise, natural acidity and tannin balance. Maturation took place in a combination of new and seasoned French oak hogsheads for a period of 16 months.

Superb colour displaying an inky black core with a very deep dark purple black hue. Dark fruit aromas of black cherries, liquorice and blackberries arise from the glass followed by some toasty vanillin oak and blackpepper end notes. Full bodied the palate features rich blackberry, liquorice and black cherry flavours over a blackpepper back palate and some underlying toasty oak. Very good depth with slightly dryish but very fine grained tannins showing perfect balance. Long black cherry, liquorice, blackpepper and toasty vanillin oak aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
