2013 Contesa Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Opaque black crimson colour with a dark crimson red hue. Nosing reveals ripe dark cherry scents intermixed with a hint of liquorice and scorched earth followed by spice end notes. Light to medium weight and quite fruity the palate is flavoured with generous ripe dark cherry and liquorice over some scorched earth and spice. Slightly dryish but fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, subtle liquorice and spicy scorched earth.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
