2012 Katnook Estate Odyssey Cabernet Sauvignon

Matured for 24 months in predominately French oak barriques of which 35% were new. Impenetrable midnight black dark red core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced cassis dark plum and liquorice aromas merge into some toasty vanillin oak, earth and spice. Full bodied and rich with a firm underbelly of tannins providing some grip on the finish, the palate features flavours of ripe blackcurrant and liquorice which sits over vanillin oak, earthy leather nuances and spice. Dry grippy finish with an aftertaste of blackcurrant, liquorice, earthy vanillin oak, tarry leather and spice.
