2011 Waipara Hills Pinot Noir

An excellent entry level Pinot Noir, perfect for quaffing over the summer months.
Translucent bright crimson red colour with light crimson red hue. The nose displays aromas of dark cherries, a touch of anise, some light toasty oak and meaty characters. Light weight but very flavoursome and possessing surprising power for its modest price point the palate delivers with dark cherry, well integrated toasty oak and some gamey meat like characters with a spicy overlay. Good length with silky smooth, soft, very fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, subtle toasty oak, dried meats and spice.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2012-2015).
