2010 Habitation Velier Monymusk EMB 9 Year Old Cask Strength Jamaica Rum (700ml)

Habitation Velier are bulding a reputation as 'The House of Pure Single Rums', releasing in conjunction with various Caribbean distilleries. Strictly speaking, these are not independent bottlings, rather more like a joint business venture. Each "Pure Single Rum" is meant as an expression of each distillery’s unique still, as pictured on the labels.

This edition is from Jamaica's Clarendon Distillery (est.1949), home to about 5-6 column still marques and about 20 pot still marques. Amongst these is Monymusk. Named after a bygone sugar plantation, the brand has only been around since 2012. Velier's is distilled in a single retort pot still, resulting in a powerful, fruity rum with esters around 270 gr/hpa.

Like all the Velier rums, it is entirely aged in the tropics, bottled at barrel proof without chill filtration or added caramel or any other element. Very limited stocks. 62% Alc./Vol.
