2010 Brokenwood Shiraz

Matured in a combination of French and American oak barriques for 18 months the wine displays an opaque black dark red colour with a dark red purple hue. Aromas of dark plum, blackberry and liquorice are followed by some vanillin oak and spice showing good intensity. Medium to full bodied the palate is generously flavoured with ripe blackberry and liquorice followed by some vanillin oak and spice. Very fine grained almost velvet like tannins. Aftertaste of liquorice, vanillin oak and spice.
Cellar 4-5 years.
