Totally opaque black dark red core with a very dark red to brick red hue. Lifted cassis and liquorice like aromas are to the fore with a varnished leather like overlay followed by vanillin cedar, earth and spice. Rich, full and still retaining plenty of blackcurrant fruit on the front palate, the back half dries a touch with earth and polished leather characters moving in along with some vanillin spice. Dry earthy finish with some firm chewy tannins coming through on the mid length aftertaste.
