Matured in a combination of French and American oak for a period of 21 months. Opaque black dark red colour with dark red hue verging on brick red. Aromas of cassis and liquorice greet the nose followed by some smoky vanillin cedar and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate has flavours of ripe blackcurrant followed by some liquorice, vanillin cedar and spice. Very fine grained well integrated tannins. Medium to long ripe blackcurrant, liquorice, toasty vanillin cedar and spice aftertaste.
