Established in 1969 by Bill and Sandra Pannell, Moss Wood is one of the oldest producers in the Margaret River Region, with their first vintage taking place in 1973. 250 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon were produced and one of Australia’s iconic red wines was born. This is a superb follow up effort to the outstanding 2007 vintage, with the 2008 showing more richness and opulence than the 2007 at similar stage of development.

An exquisite Moss Wood Cabernet !

Produced from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc the wine was matured for approximately 18 months in French oak. Opaque black dark purple colour with deep dark purple red hue. The nose is a delightful perfumed sniff displaying top notes of violets followed by blackcurrant and mulberry with overtones of cedar and tobacco cigar box like characters finishing with a spicy end note. The palate is a magnificent essay of refinement and style delivering great concentration and power with impeccable balance. Ripe blackcurrant fruit completely engulfs the palate followed by some mulberry, cedar and spice with some cigar box back palate characters. Perfectly integrated velvet like tannin structure. Sublime depth with exceptionally long aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, mulberry, cedar and spice. An exquisite Moss Wood Cabernet that's also a must have collector's vintage.
Cellar 8-10 years (2019-2021).
