2007 Xabregas Shiraz

A saturate of colour – totally opaque black purple colour, holding like paint to the glass walls. Aroma of spice, fresh liquorice allsorts, blackberry and white pepper. The palate is driven by dry chalky tannins which overtake the fruit flavours which limp away in the background. The winemaker describes the tannins as “rippling” however they are better described as chainsaw like – ripping the fruit away.
