2007 Oakridge Over the Shoulder Shiraz Viognier

Very deep almost opaque black crimson purple colour with purple mauve hue. Lifted nose of dried apricot, fresh liquorice, vanilla and spice delivering an impressive lift. The palate displays flavours of apricot and blackberry over a background of fresh liquorice and spice. There is a hint of white pepper. Fine tannins with excellent balance.

This is the second label of Oakridge, effectively its third level behind the 864 brand and estate varietals. Vibrant crimson-purple colour accurately foretells the fresh, vibrant red fruit aromas and flavours; fine tannins on the finish give the wine the structure sometimes lacking with this blend.
