2006 Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill Champagne

Only produced in the very best vintage years Pol Roger’s Winston Churchill is sourced exclusively from Grand Cru Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards with the Pinot being the dominate variety in the blend.

A superb frothy white mousse sits over a straw coloured base that has pale gold edgings. The exceptionally fine bead shows great persistence. Heady toast, yeast lees, bready characters and citrus stream from the glass underpinned by subtle cashew, dried honey and almond notes. Rich, yet with an airy feel and round satiny texture, this vibrant mouth-watering Champagne features well meshed flavours of baked bread, yeast lees, subtle oily toast characters, cashew, light dried honey, brioche and almonds. Very refined with a creamy mid palate and superb length, finishing dry with precise acidity. Very long bready yeast lees, subtle oily toast, cashew, dried honey and light almond aftertaste.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
