Saperavi is Georgia's principle red grape variety producing a big Durif style red. Totally opaque black purple colour with deep purple hue. Aroma of plum and stewed fruit, followed by spice and blackberry. The palate has weight but remains relatively short. Flavours of stewed fruit and spice emerge. Fine, dry tannins which persist well into the aftertaste. A wine that has bulk but needs time to develop length and complexity.
