2003 Fifth Leg Semillon Sauvignon Blanc Chardonnay

At first this may be an odd combination of grapes to assemble for a white, with the potential of vegetative and ripe stone fruit flavours clashing, however this is not the case, as the fruit has been picked at the riper end of the flavour spectrum. Bright pale straw colour. The nose displays a hint of tropical fruit, followed by melon, peach and ripe gooseberry. Full bodied palate, with creamy texture and again ripe flavours of tropical fruit and gooseberry are dominant over a spicy background. Crisp acid finish. Aftertaste of tropical fruit, melon and spice.
