De Bortoli release Shiraz from the Wills Hill Vineyard only in outstanding years. The fruit has been grown on red soils over limestone. Very deep crimson colour with mauve purple hue. Aroma of blackberry and spice, followed by ripe plum, toasted oak and vanilla. The palate has generous flavours, with fine, dry but slightly chalky tannins. Flavours of spice, plum, toasted oak and aniseed emerge. Excellent balance. Very long aftertaste of spice, plum, blackberry and black pepper.
