1999 Punters Corner Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

The Russians have arrived! This wine has been matured in Russian, American and French Oak which has resulted in an excellent tight knit wine that will blossom as it ages. Totally opaque black crimson colour. The nose is very appealing with its distinctive violet top note, followed by confectionary mint and blackcurrant, with a liquorice end note. Excellent weight with an abundance of flavour. Flavours of blackcurrant and liquorice are to the fore, with back palate flavours of spice and plum. Fine grained, dry tannins, with very long lingering blackcurrant, spice and chocolate aftertaste. Cellar 4-5 years.
