1999 Penfolds Barossa Valley Semillon Chardonnay

Bright pale straw colour. Aroma of peach, tropical fruit, with a hint of oak, vanilla, spice and a honeyed end note. Subtle palate flavours, quite dry, with flavours of citrus, oak and melon. Soft acid finish. Cellar 1-2 years.

Retasted: Brilliant straw colour. Aroma of green tea, spice, confectionery, tropical fruit and spice. On the palate there are rather simple flavours of tropical fruits and ripe peach, soft acid finish, with tropical fruits and melon confectionery aftertaste. A well made commercial wine. Cellar 1-2 years.

A very well made commercial wine. Bright straw colour. Aromas of vanilla, butterscotch, yeast lees, tropical fruit and spice. Full bodied palate with some toasted oak flavours over a background of spice, yeast lees and peach. Clean crisp finish, followed by an aftertaste of spice, peach and tropical fruit. Cellar 1-2 years.
