The Hardys 1999 Tintara Shiraz is one of the finest expressions of the 1999 vintage, and demonstrates that with great viticultural care, great wine can be made in difficult years. Opaque, black crimson colour, with dark crimson hue. Superb nose, with subtle top note of leather, cedar, violets, blackcurrant, spice and cloves. A wonderful sniff! Mouthfilling concentrated palate flavours of violets, liquorice, spice, cedar and clove over a distinct blackpepper background. Outstanding length and concentration. Fine, firmish but perfectly balanced tannins, followed by a very long aftertaste of leather, cedar and spice.
