1999 Guelbenzu Evo Cabernet Sauvignon Tempranillo Merlot

Yet another outstanding wine from Guelbenzu. Made from 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Tempranillo and 10% Merlot. Opaque, black crimson colour. The Tempranillo gives the nose a very distinct lift with notes of confectionary, spice and earth emerging. On the palate, flavours of blackcurrant, cedar and mulberry, with the Tempranillo playing a lesser role. Excellent length, velvet smooth tannins, and a very long aftertaste, with the Tempranillo making a reappearance. Cellar 3 – 4 years. (2004 – 2005)
