1998 Tyrrell's Old Winery Shiraz

This wine is a blend of 55% McLaren Vale, 30% Heathcote and 15% Hunter Valley fruit, although the label makes no mention of the Heathcote component. Full bodied, opaque crimson mauve purple colour. Aroma of confectionary, vanilla, plum, liquorice and black pepper. The palate is very peppery with distinct blackberry and plum background fruit flavours. Fine grained dryish tannins, good balance with long pepper blackberry plum aftertaste. Cellar 4-5 years.
