1998 Tyrrell's Old Winery Cabernet Merlot

A very appealing, affordable red that has many parallels with the Peter Lehmann style. Medium body, crimson mauve colour. Very appealing nose displaying aromas of spice, mulberry and confectionery, with vanilla and coconut end notes. On the palate there are flavours of liquorice, spice and mulberries, with a touch of black pepper at the very end. Fine grained, dry, firmish tannins, in balance, followed by long after taste of spice, blackcurrant and blackberry. Cellar 3-4 years.
