1998 Lindemans Limestone Ridge Vineyard Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

Of the three 1998 Lindemans releases, the Limestone Ridge is the lightest, but none the less delivers plenty of flavour. Opaque crimson, black colour. Aroma of vanilla and liquorice, followed by hints of earth, leather, blackcurrant and spice. The palate shows a degree of elegance that appears missing from the big blockbuster, super alcoholic wines, with flavours of earth, plum and liquorice. Fine grained firmish tannins, however, there is a drop off in flavour on the end palate, which is partially compensated for by the peppery aftertaste. Cellar 4-5 years.
