The house of Bollinger only makes the Grande Annee in exceptional vintages. 1990 was a truly exceptional year in Champagne with perfect ripening conditions. Made from a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay harvested from Grand Crus (67%) and premiers crus (33%), which provide the wine with structure, complexity and ageing capacity. The high proportion of Pinot Noir (69%) makes for powerful and full bodied aromas that are balanced by 31% Chardonnay. Grande Annee is aged in the Bollinger cellars on its lees and under real cork, for a minimum of 5 years before disgorgement. 12% alcohol volume.
