Plantation Peru Single Cask Multi Vintage Rum (700ml)

Our first ever rum from Peru! Molasses based and distilled in both pot still and column stills at the Destilerías Unidas S.A. de Peru based in the arid Chicama Valley, this multi-vintage blend (2010, 2006, 2004) was first aged in x Willett rye and Slovenian oak casks and then shipped to France for a further two years maturation in the cooler European climate. The label carries a lama stamp, animal symbol of the Incas. Extremely limited allocation.

Notes from Plantation... Nose : It starts with an intense note of varnish rapidly followed by fruity, vanilla and rye whiskey notes. It then evolves on wood smoke with a balsamic touch. Palate : Rich quite woody, it reminds the nose with fruity notes of cooked pear, lemon, banana and kiwi and dryer notes of ginger, pepper, almond and nutmeg. Finish : Long and rather dry with milk chocolate, walnut and banana. 49.8% Alc./Vol.
