Mount Gay XO The Peat Smoke Expression Limited Edition Rum (700ml)

Mount Gay continue to push the boundaries of the rum category, with their latest expression being a meeting of two lands. Master blender, Allen Smith has combined Barbados column and pot still rums matured for eight to fifteen years in American oak barrels then finished them in casks that previously held smoky Scotch single malt for an additional six months. You get ripe banana and toasted notes typical of Mount Gay XO along side salty and smoky notes from the Islay peated whisky casks.

Smith adds, " I have worked to capture the perfect balance of elegant rum overtones and mellow, peated whisky undertones, This one-of-a-kind blend is sure to please the most discerning of palates with its unconventional character, freshness and aromatic complexity," he explains.

Each bottle features vintage-style labels and comes individually numbered and packaged in a handsome timber box. Adding to the allure is the fact that the rum weighs in at cask strength, so it'll pack a punch flavourwise.
