ABV: 43.5%
Made since the 19th century in England, the story goes that this nostalgic gin brand was shipped to the British population in Zanzibar, which today consists of the African country Kenya. There, it was almost exclusively consumed by the members of a private social club located in the coastal city of Mombasa - the place where the bustle of modern civilisation meets the magic and mystery of the exotic African world.

Today this label finds new life as a small-batch London Dry gin made by Thames Distillers in London. It's produced from four times distilled neutral grain spirit and hand-selected botanicals.

The Colonel's Reserve is a slightly higher abv version of the original and emphasises caraway seed over more traditional ingredients. Calamus is also added, an aquatic plant that normally grows in swampy areas of Europe and America. Once again, the packaging is terrific. 43.5% Alc./Vol.
