This unique tequila has been introduced in celebration of Cuervo’s long family tradition of tequila production that spans more than two hundred years. The family selects only the best of its tequilas, maturing them in a private cellar. Family member, Juan Domingo Beckmann recalls: 'I was five years old and I remember being here with my father and grandfather preparing Reserva’s limited edition for 1972. This tequila was a private reserve, shared exclusively with family and close personal friends; that is why the name of this product is Reserva de la Familia, which means 'The Family Reserve”.

For the 2012 collection, Mexican artist Ricardo Pinto has been chosen to feature his artwork. Pinto is known for recreating the architecture, urbanity and temporal scope of the everyday life of Mexico City.
