Tasting note: [from a 20ml sample] Brassy gold with some very fine sediment evident. Soft and shy bouquet requires some coaxing slowly releasing floral scents of dried grass, whitepepper, prunes and cocoa. Still coy after 5 minutes aeration. Superb poise to the middle weight delivery which is luscious, honeyed, building with flavours of dried figs, toasty oak, rancio and subtle white pepper. Fig and finely tuned tannins in the aftertaste. Excellent length. 40% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... The brandies in this bottling are over two decades old. The opening bouquet is laden with tobacco leaf, vanilla extract and dried prunes. Rancio becomes apparent in the third nosing pass, in the husky perfume of hard cheese and old oak barrels. Toasty, smoky flavors of sugar biscuits, hard cheese and overripe grapes impress the taste buds on entry. By midpalate, flavors include vanilla bean, plums, black raisins, paraffin and rancio.
