The most recent disgorgement of the NV Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Les Vignes de Montgueux assembles the vintages 2015 (35%), 2014 (47%) and 2013 (18%). The wine was predominantly fermented in stainless steel except for the 2013, which was entirely fermented in barrels. Bottled in 2016 and disgorged in April 2018 (Code: 160418), the wine has a bright, luminous citrus color color and offers clear, fresh and light but characterful and flinty fruit. Very delicate, pure and finessed on the palate, this is a light but serious, well-structured and stimulating dry aperitif Champagne with nice purity and mineral freshness in the finish. Tasted April 2018.
Stephan Reinhardt - Wine Advocate #238 (Sep 2018)
Light, somehow slightly honeyed nose. Fresh bruised-apple note on the palate. A bit austere. Bone-dry finish though I appreciate the medium fizziness. Pretty youthful.
