Jenever (or Genever) is the grandmother of modern gin and is still produced in Belgium and the Netherlands where it originated. This is a traditional 100% grain spirit made from triticale (a wheat-rye hybrid), malt and barley. It contains 33% barrel aged malt wine (moutwjin), blended with juniper, pink peppercorns, lemon myrtle, eucalyptus, cinnamon myrtle and aniseed myrtle infused spirit, all finished with local Australian Red Box Honey from Walkabout Apiaries in Milawa.

Tasting note: Very pale straw gold. Pure and well defined aromas reminiscent of sour dough or unleavened bread. Air contact accents straw bail / grain store / oatmeal / wild honey. A feather weight profile with delicate bready notes, hints of brown rice and dilute honey flavours. Concludes frail, sake-like and relatively short. 38% Alc./Vol.
