Hurdle Creek Still The Aniseed Gin (700ml)

This combines a traditional gin botanical base with a blend of aniseed flavours including home grown fennel and Australian aniseed myrtle.

Tasting note: Clear, drier styled aromatics with upfront aniseed nicely harmonised with restrained juniper. Air contact draws out lemon cough lozenge, hints of tarragon and muted white pepper but aniseed remains the keynote. A softly textured, slightly broad delivery with low-key spices, understated piney juniper and a delicious aniseed burst to finish. Concludes keenly balanced, moderately fresh with clean, gently warming spirit and lingering anise / pepper flavours. Almost more like a dry Ouzo than a gin, but in the best possible way. 42% Alc./Vol.
