Rums have been produced on the Caribbean island of Antigua for close to 350 years. These relatively light-bodied styles were originally created to satisfy discerning clientele from the British Royal Navy. Rums under the English Harbour label are today produced via copper pot distillation and maturated in small oak barrels.

Tasting note: The bouquet sparkles with notes of bark, oak, brown sugar, bacon fat, sautéed banana and maple. The palate entry is creamy, toffee-like and silky; the mid palate offers flavors of pastry, chocolate fudge, nougat, chestnut and honey. Finishes harmoniously with the sweet flavor gracefully melded to the texture. A perfect oak-aged molasses rum. 40% Alc./Vol. 96-100 points - www.wineenthusiast.com

Other reviews... Burnished amber color with an olive cast. Roasted nut, dried fruit, toffee, light latte aromas have a distinct bourbon barrel character. A soft supple entry leads to a dry-yet-fruity medium-full body of toffee, roasted pecan, and brown spice flavors. Finishes with a long rich dried fruit, nutshell, and wood spice fade. A delicious rum that will make for superb cocktails.
