Prior to this, most Rum was confined to the bottom shelf, destined to be mixed with Cola or Ginger. The brand is a new venture founded by Carl Stephenson and Andreas Redlefsen, both directors possessing highly credible international experience in developing premium rum and spirits brands, working for companies such as Allied Domecq, Moet Hennessy and Wray & Nephew. Tasting note: Deep gold with a pale gold hue. Dried banana, brown sugar, creme caramel and nutmeg presents from the glass in a seamless mesh of aromas. The palate entry is soft, silky and ever so gently spiced with luxurious flavours of dried banana, date, vanilla and cinnamon delivered with a creamy mouth feel. Exceptional spice/fruit balance. Very long, clean, drying after taste of molasses and liquorice all sorts. We suspect the pristine, elegant nature of this spirit would be lost in any extravagant cocktail, but a generous measure would be a delight in something as simple as a Mojito.
