Black Gate Distillery Single Cask Australian Rum (700ml)

Black Gate Rum and Black Gate Single Malt Whisky are now on offer after maturing in 100 litre ex sherry casks for two years. The distillery aims at using local grains and fruits for all of its products. The rum is double distilled in a direct fired copper pot still and made from fermented refinery molasses.

Tasting note: Bright amber gold. Reveals intense aromas of caramel fudge, cornflake honey crackles and deep vanilla in the opening sniffs. Later inspection finds the bouquet shift towards golden syrup. Gently bittersweet and surprisingly sedate given the high abv with medium dry banana fritter, honey crackle and cocoa flavours. Dries to finish with light golden syrup / brown sugar and vanilla milkshake in the aftertaste; molasses sweetness returning late. 50% Alc./Vol.
