2021 Vickery Watervale Riesling

John Vickery is a legend of the Australian wine industry and is widely acknowledged as the old master of Riesling. His illustrious career spans over 50 years at the likes of Leo Buring and Richmond Grove during which time he amassed more than 50 Trophies and over 400 gold medals. He was also responsible for the re-introduction of screw caps with his 1998 Richmond Grove Watervale Riesling.
Brilliant very pale straw, almost water like core with distinct highlights of green around the outskirts. Leaping out of the glass are intense lime and citrus aromatics which are followed by orange rind, talc and minerals. Mouth watering lime and citrus fruits flood the palate underpinned by crunchy acidity. Green apple, subtle orange rind, talc and chalky mineral characters ensue. Great concentration, focus and drive with a long scrumptious aftertaste.
