2020 Voyager Estate Chenin Blanc

Brilliant very pale straw colour with a subtle glimmer of green running around the edges and a watery hue. Elevated ripe Jonathan apple, baked pear and honeysuckle aromas are followed by some citrus and light spice. Delicious ripe pear and apple fruits fill the mouth with elements of honeysuckle and subtle cinnamon spice ensuing. Excellent intensity with a well rounded, fullish mouthfeel. Finishes dry with good freshness and a lusciously fruited aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

Certified organic, the chenin on the estate was planted in 1978. Fruit was harvested overnight, pressed immediately and transferred to tank for fermentation. Lees were left in situ and stirred regularly for 6 weeks to achieve texture. White pear, summer apricot, jasmine tea and white spice. The palate has a waxy Vouvray vibe going on, which really builds on itself through the evolution over the palate. Desperately pleasurable, jolly good drinking. Drink by 2030.
