Cellar: Drink now - 2 Years (2021-2023)
ABV: 12.5%
Closure: Stelvin

After a high flying career in marketing Ingrid Groiss returned to her family origins, enrolling in viticulture, oenology and wine marketing at the University of Vienna. During those studies she gained experience with producers such as Domäne Wachau, Birgit Braunstein and Birgit Eichinger. She had to play second fiddle to her chief winemaker dad until in 2010 when she went head-to-head with him in a blind taste-off of their own wines, with the victor being handed the winemaker's reins. Needless to say Ingrid came out on top.
Brilliant very pale straw, almost water like colour with greenish tinged edges. Lifted juicy pear and apple aromas have a musk overlay with some light spice also evident. Wonderfully intense and textural, delicious pear, ripe apple and musk flavours are underpinned by slatey mineral characters. Finishes dry with brisk acidity and a flint laced aftertaste.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
Alc. 12.5%

Other Reviews….
This generous and supple gruner veltliner has tons of reine-claude plum and green-apple aroma, along with an excellent balance of precisely delineated body and mineral acidity through the long finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
