Clear depth to the fruit on the nose, this is a pretty serious wine, where you see the lines of the tannins stretching out before you and in between the muscles you get clear floral notes, giving it a savoury Cabernet emphasis. With time in the glass, the cassis fruits come along and show their density and class, and the clear spice. Claude Gros consultant. 3.65pH, 50% new oak. 15ha estate. Harvest September 23 to October 2 (the heavier storm Alex fell on October 3rd).

Full bottle 1,357 g. Cask sample taken 6 April. Very informative sample label giving varietal composition and harvest dates: 45% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2 % Petit Verdot. Harvested 16 September to 1 October. 40% new oak.
Deepest cherry red. Inviting and open nose of sweet and scented black and dark-red fruit and just a hint of oak's sweetness. On the palate, juicy with those same fruit flavours and lovely freshness to balance. The oak is carried lightly and is well integrated. The tannins fine and dry on the finish.
