Made the way Chardonnay used to be, West Cape Howe’s Old School Chardonnay is fermented entirely in French oak and goes through malolactic fermentation to produce a big, rich, textured wine with a modern twist of freshness on the finish.

Brilliant very pale straw colour with a greenish tinge to the edges and a watery hue. Pronounced ripe peach and melon scents are trailed by light dried honey, citrus, biscuity oak and spice notes. The rich, mouthfilling palate has a creamy textural feel which builds incrementally as it heads towards the finish. Fleshy peach, dried honey and citrusy nougat flavours meld into some crème brulee, toasty oak and spice characters. Balanced freshness with a long well rounded aftertaste. Will continue to fill out further with some bottle age.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
