Sourced from hand harvested and hand tended plots throughout the north western Barossa Valley the Woodcutter’s Shiraz is fermented in a mixture of cement, wooden and stainless steel vats for 6-7 days. It is then basket pressed to well-seasoned hogsheads and French oak foudres for 12 months.

Drenched in opulent fruits, this sumptuously rich Barossa Shiraz has a youthful vitality to it that will see it evolve into an absolute belter.

Magnificent colour saturation, it’s inky black heart totally impenetrable and the hue black dark purple and nearly as deep. Spiralling out of the glass are intense freshly crushed black cherry, liquorice and dark plum aromatics which are trailed by some smoky vanillin cedar, fennel and pepper notes. Incredibly rich, dense and intense for its price point but still very youthful, the full bodied palate is consumed with dark plum, liquorice and blackberry fruits with a dash of blueberry also chiming in to freshen things up. Vanillin cedar, light earthy fennel elements and pepper sit in the background. Bright acidity energizes the wines opulence whist velvet like tannins possess an underlying sturdiness. Fantastic power with a long, sumptuous aftertaste. Give it some time in the cellar and you won’t regret it.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
