Sons of Eden have been at the forefront of a new wave of Barossa winemakers revitalising the regions wine styles. Whilst some have pushed the barrier a little too far, overshooting the mark in their pursuit of elegance and freshness at the sacrifice of Barossa’s trademark richness, these boys regularly hit the bullseye. Right through their range of reds they are a model of consistency combining Barossa’s famed rich fruit with supple textures, a delicious savouriness and a fresh feel, never losing sight of what Barossa does best – produce rich opulent full bodied reds.

A rich, silky core of fruit and a long smouldering finish make for an incredibly moreish Barossa Shiraz.

Fruit was sourced from the Barossa sub regions of Gomersal, Seppeltsfield, Tanunda, Moppa & Ebenezer with the vines aged between 20 to 60 years old. Ageing took place in a mix of new and seasoned oak hogsheads for a period of 14 months. Impenetrable inky black heart with a very deep dark purple black hue. Showing fantastic intensity is a lovely aromatic profile of dark plum, blackberry juice, liquorice and ripe blueberries. Notions of vanillin cedar, fennel and spicy pepper add range. Draped across the palate like liquid silk are rich blackberry, dark plum and liquorice fruits with some fresh blueberry also chiming in. Outstanding, depth, poise and balance with elements of vanillin cedar, fennel, dried herbs and spicy pepper poking through on the back half. Polished, velvety tannins with a long sleek aftertaste showing plenty of flesh.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
