Fruit was sourced from two Eden Valley Vineyards to make the 2019 Freya Riesling. The Cranes Range vineyard contributes just over 50% of the blend is situated in the cooler Craneford section of Eden Valley and has a predominate east-west row orientation. The second vineyard which which makes up the balance is from the Petney vineyard situated in the higher altitude High-Eden sub-region.

Very fine and long, this is a superb example of Eden Valley Riesling that shows great precision.

Brilliant very pale straw almost water like colour with greenish tinged edges. Pronounced lime and orange rind scents jump out of the glass followed by hints of red apple, orange blossom and stony mineral notes. Mouth watering flavours of lime, citrus and orange rind have a racy feel backed by steely acidity. The finish is dry, flinty and mineral infused with some chalky talc like elements also making an appearance. Long crunchy and very precise aftertaste.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 11.5%

Other Reviews….
From two Eden Valley vineyards: 44yo vines at Craneford, the other at High Eden, both hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed. Intense, pure lime/lemon fruit hits the bullseye, juicy yet crisp/crunchy acidity on a long palate. Drink 2032.
