Forty percent of the wine was fermented in neutral French barrels. Brilliant very pale straw colour with a faint tinge of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Aromas of grapefruit and lime mix with herbaceous gooseberries, asparagus and grassy citrus notes. Racy fresh gooseberry, grapefruit and granny smith apple flavours enliven the palate. Herbaceous grassy characters, asparagus and infusions of gun flint present themselves on the back half. Dry crisp finish with a long vibrant aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 13%

Other Reviews….
The whole shebang for making serious white wine, despite how people often approach the variety in NZ. A different animal. A high pedigree one.
Scents of pecan nuts, ripe citrus, green apple, wheat biscuits. Fleshy in the palate, rolls with authority, firm grip but a juicy core and layers and layers of citrus, stone fruit, nutty flavour. Such a delight! So much to sink one’s teeth into. Drink 2020-2030.
