Produced with an even mix of whole bunch and whole berry ferments with maturation taking place in old oak puncheons for a period of 9 months. Semi translucent dark red colour with black tinged edges and a bright light red hue. The nose offers up perfumed like aromatics of violets, fresh herbs, red cherries and strawberries all infused with dried clove followed by earth and spice end notes. Light in body, delicious juicy red berry fruits mix with dried herbs, subtle scorched earth and spicy clove nuances. Finishes bright with fresh acidity, polished tannins and an elegant aftertaste.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.

Other Reviews….
No RRP on the bottle, so I assume the price has remained static. An alarmingly amateur oversight by old hand Tim Shand. Oh well. We forgive him, as he’s a nice perky fellow. I think we’ve said it before, but Gamay has a great future in the Yarra Valley, and it’s a better grape than Pinot Noir too.
What a charming and tasty wine this is. Cherry and little raspberry frogs leaping into a bowl of black pepper, gin and cinnamon, a wisp of smokiness in the background. It’s supple and fruity, but kind of meaty and spicy too, with gentle graphite tannin grip, and strawberry and spice running on a good long finish. So nicely done. Drink 2020-2026+
