Puech-Haut’s lighter coloured style of rosé is akin to what the French call "Vin Gris", usually enjoyed with Summer Mediterranean dishes like grilled fish, tian (a cold vegetable flan) and salads, but also as an aperitif with finger foods. Made as a "Rose de presse" (juice straight off the press), the grapes are pressed rather than macerated (as is the case in a "Rose de Saignee"). Chateau Puech Haut employ Grenache and Cinsault for this wine, which is fermented in thermo regulated stainless steel over twenty days to increase flavour intensity.
Pale salmon pink tinged colour with a watery hue. Nosing reveals scents of peach, cherries, winter strawberries, wet stone and spice. Showing good intensity yet also a touch more elegance than previous vintages, the palate sports fresh peach and strawberry fruits over a wet stone back drop with traces of pomegranate and spice also chiming in. Nicely rounded mouthfeel finishing dry and crisp. Picks up subtle infusions of musk on the lengthy aftertaste.

Other Reviews….
Released in a beautiful, frosted bottle, the 2019 Argali Rose reveals a light pink color as well as a terrific nose of tart cherries, citrus pith, white flowers, and white peach. A medium-bodied, rich, beautifully textured rosé, it spans the gap between the vibrant, fresh and quaffable Provençal efforts and a richer, Gigondas or Tavel style rosé. It's beautifully balanced, with good acidity and a clean, crisp finish.
