2019 Pierro L.T.C.

A blend of 79% Sauvignon Blanc, 16% Semillon and 5% Chardonnay. Twenty percent of the blend was fermented and matured in new and one & two year-old French oak barrels with the balance fermented and matured in stainless steel. Brilliant water like colour with a greenish tinged outskirts. Lifted aromatics of passionfruit and grapefruit are intertwined with gooseberries followed by infusions of gun flint, asparagus and herbaceous grassy notes. Racy gooseberry, grapefruit and light passionfruit flavours intermix with gun flint and herbaceous grassy characters. Finishes dry with crunchy acidity and a long focused aftertaste that has some zest to it.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

A refreshing take on the SBS partnership with a glug of chardonnay, fermented in stainless steel except 25% goes into new French barriques. It's quite racy with lemon sorbet acidity keeping the sweet fruit in check. Smoky with delicious flavours of honeydew, sugar snap, limes and lemon juice with grapefruit pith texture. Drink by 2024.
