2019 Journeys End Naturist Chardonnay

Even though the majority of this wine was matured in neutral oak, with only a small proportion in new 'Vicard' French oak barriques, the end result is a rich, full bodied style of Chardonnay that will only fill out further with time. Winemaker Ben Riggs has added back an additional 10% of tank fermented juice to provide freshness and vibrancy to the final wine. Fruit for the 2019 vintage was sourced from the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale.
Brilliant pale straw colour with faint tinges of green around the edges and a watery hue. Prominent ripe peach, honeycomb and light butterscotch aromas show good lift out of the glass with hints of crème brulee and spice following on. Holding impressive weight and richness in the mouth, generous ripe peach, honeycomb and crème brulee flavours have a full, creamy textured feel. Also present are elements of butterscotch and spicy nougat. Perfectly judged acidity with a long finish that’s both rich and well rounded.
