2019 J.Moreau & Fils Chardonnay

Renowned Chablis producer J.Moreau & Fils have branched out from their traditional roots to produce this very affordable Chardonnay that’s very Chablisisque like. Vins de France is a relatively new appellation that allows winemakers to source grapes from different French regions and allows for a greater liberty in winemaking techniques.
Bright pale straw colour with a faint glimmer of green around the edges and a watery hue. Elevated white peach, pear and dried honey scents meld into some wet stone and delicate mineral notes. Texturally well rounded and full in the mouth, the palate is generously endowed with white peach, dried honey and pear flavours which show ample richness. A bed of stony mineral characters lies underneath. Nicely balanced acidity with a moreish medium to long aftertaste. Impressive value here.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
