Named as James Halliday’s winery of the year in his 2015 Wine Companion, Hentley Farm produce a wide array of outstanding wines. The warm 2019 vintage conditions meant faster than normal ripening times and a condensed vintage. The low crops producing wines that are powerful, intense and structured. This Shiraz was sourced from 10 blocks across the Hentley Farm Estate in Seppeltsfield with the wine aged in a combination of new (10%) and old (90%) French and American oak barrels for a period of 15 months.

Combines great power and intensity with a vivid freshness.

Magnificent colour displaying a super saturated inky black core with an equally deep black dark purple hue. Heady dark plum, liquorice, blackberry and ripe blueberry scents intoxicate the olfactory scents with vanillin cedar, light fennel and pepper notes ensuing. Rich, opulent and dense yet at the same time beaming with a youthful freshness, the palate is awash with bright dark plum, liquorice, freshly crushed blackberry and blueberry fruits. Spicy vanillin cedar, earthy fennel and pepper also chime in. Finishes slightly inky with a burst of vibrant acidity. Sturdy yet cleverly integrated tannin structure with a long bright and sumptuous aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 15%
